Masters Project - Doctor Distance Tracking for Occupational Exposure Measurement (Ongoing)

  • Collaborated with the Medical Physics and Engineering Department in the University Hospital Galway.
  • Utilised a camera with depth-sensing technology for non-invasive measurement of radiation exposure.
  • Utilised previous research to create a map correlating radiation exposure with cardiologist location.
  • Integrated an object detection algorithm with distance measurement feature of an Intel RealSense resulting in successful tracking of cardiologists throughout surgery.
